Mens 1XI Team
The Men’s 1st XI play in the highly competitive West Premiership Division, with clear ambitions of securing promotion to the National League. In recent seasons, the team has delivered strong performances, including a close 2nd place finish that saw us narrowly miss out on promotion. The team aims to build on these results to continue developing as both individual players and as a squad.
The team is a combination of both experience and emerging talent, reflecting the club’s strong emphasis on youth development. Many of the current first-team players have progressed through the club’s ranks, showcasing the strength of our pathway system and the progression opportunities available at Whitchurch HC.
We always welcome new players to help us to continue to drive forward our ambitions of National League promotion.
1 XI – Captain – Iwan Marshall
The Men’s 2nd XI were promoted into the West Division 1 North last year, gaining some promising results for the first year in a new league and consolidating their place for the 2025/2026 season. The squad is mainly made up of those in their 20s-30s, with a handful of promising juniors coming up through the club ready to make the next step. We are a competitive and sociable team and always looking to welcome more players!

Men's 3XI Team
The Men’s 3rd XI play in the Men’s Bridge Division 1, focused on striking the balance between competitive play and enjoying the game.
The squad brings together players of all levels – from seasoned athletes to youth players looking to grow and learn in a supportive environment. The team have regularly maintained top half finishes but their ambition is to gain promotion this coming season.
3XI – Captain – Glen Henley
Whitchurch 4th XI is a mixture of old heads with some of the youth players in the club, which gives this team a great mix of wisdom and enthusiasm. (Old Heads/Young Legs). Their objective is to maintain a steady, confident, and spirited team throughout the year. The team currently competes in Men’s De Cymru Division 1.
4XI – Captain – Jamie Westerman

Mens 5XIs Team
The mighty Whitchurch 5th XI gained promotion to Bridge 1 last season with a mix of experience and youth, this year they look to solidify their position in the league whilst supporting the youth players to continue their progression through the club.
5XI – Captain – Matt Rapson
The Whitchurch 6th XI is made up of youth and more established older players. The team plays against similar teams with similar make up of players. The players work hard and as a team. The 6XI provides opportunities for everyone to play no matter if you’re new to hockey, have not played in years or are somewhere in between. They enjoy their hockey, whatever the outcome.
