60th Anniversary Dinner
Will be held at the Park Inn in the City Centre on Saturday 26th April with tickets being maintained at last year's price of £25. The event will mark the 60th anniversary of the club's formation so we are hoping many former members will be joining us.
There will be a private bar from 18:30 and dinner will commence at 19:45. Rooms are available in the hotel for those who live away from Cardiff, at £65 (single) and £75 (double). These can be booked directly with the hotel on T: (029) 2034 1441. This will be a great opportunity for past and present memebers to get together and talk about old times.
Please contact Roger Caddick for your tickets T: (029) 20 36 2860.
Panto 2008
I am delighted to report that this year's Panto will take place on Saturday 23 February, at Whitchurch Rugby Sports & Social Club. The performance will be Aladdin and the advanced ticket price has been maintained at £5. Entry on the door will be charged at £6. Tickets will be on sale to each team very shortly and I would advise immediate purchase as last year's were the hottest ticket in town...and we wouldn't want you to miss out!
Auditions will commence Wednesday 23 January - those interested in performing should contact Producer Mike Riches or Artistic Director Jon Wilks ASAP...the casting couch awaits!
The Race Night was very well attended on Friday night, with a great time had by all. We raised almost £500 for Club funds.
Well done all involved - Roger, Ben, Collette and Jenny.
“The view back stage at this year’s Panto, ‘Snow White and the Severn Dwarfs’ – Fri 2nd February 2007”
Following on from last year’s very successful Panto ‘Peter Pan’, The Whitchurch Amateur Theatrical Society (T-W-A-*-S) braved the boards and produced another fantastic evening of fun and frolics for an eager hockey audience. ‘Snow White and the Severn Dwarfs’ never really knew what hit them as the plot developed and the 150 strong crowd went wild. Snow White’s sexy outfit from ebay and Sleepy’s figure-hugging shorts lit up the stage, and caused much admiration behind the scenes. Wigs, feathers, pies, eye shadow and beer were all thrown into the mix, as we changed back stage under the watchful eye of our own weatherman and a magic mirror. Congratulations go to all involved for a really enjoyable evening, and particular thanks to our devoted director Mike Riches and writer Jon Wilks for bringing us all together. Over £……..? was raised for club funds through door tickets and a busy raffle. Many thanks for everyone who donated prizes. I wonder if the cast and their supporters will return to christen the new clubhouse next year..? Hope so.
Thanks also to: Goldie, Jurgen, Rappo, Smudger, Liz, Mr Sad, Thommo, Rhys, Jenny, Dan, Maria, Watto, Ben, Adam, Collette, John Williams and Jacko.
