Whitchurch Bs v Penarth Match Report 26th Sept 15'

Result: Whitchurch 1-13 Penarth

The newly formed 3s took on Penarth, containing several Whitchurch 'old boys', for the first league fixture.
This was going to be a tough encounter as Penarth were unrecognisable from previous season, adding masses of quality over the summer.

Whitchurch started slowly, allowing Penarth to show their class with 2 well taken goals in the opening 5 minutes.
Whitchurch then grew into the game and balanced the contest until some tiredness crept in toward the break allowing Penarth to take advantage, adding 3 more quick goals to their tally.

The second half was more of the same.
Penarth showed that they will be a strong favourite in this division and Whitchurch showed some class in places, the standout moment was Iwan Jones' solo run, beating the keeper and finishing from near the baseline.
